For this project I intend on exploring typography, researching creative typography and looking at various designers such Stefan Sagmeister who has used objects to create words. Or Minoru Morita who has used words to create objects. I plan on using typography to illustrate a collection of reflective statements that will be responses to a number of issues that concern the general public. Therefore they will need to be displayed in public areas where they can be easily viewed, the areas need to be highly visible and related to the statement. I will aim to illustrate 3–5 statements, the medium depending on the context. If the medium is print I will research different printing methods to acquire the best outcome.

I have decided to change my proposal.
For my previous project I focused on expression and created a series of door hangers for students to use in their halls or flats. For my final major project I plan on building on this concept as I feel door hangers can be used in a lot more locations than just hotels. Therefore I intend on creating door hangers for a number of different occasions, such as seasonal door hangers for different public holidays, local events and other functions, exploring different ways they can be used to express what is going on behind closed doors.
I will investigate where door hangers can be found most useful, where they are not already being used. I will research current styles of door hangers and how they are manufactured and printed.

After researching a number of different style door hangers i came up with a concept of having a door hangers that depicted what was being done behind the door in a humorous way and having a separate piece that could be added on to say whether to be disturbed or not. I looked at a number of different designs to use for the shape of my door hanger and decided on one. I then went on to brainstorm all the different things that people would want to say they were doing to put on the door hanger. Once the main ideas had been decided i started to brainstorm images that could portray the text on the door hanger. Once i came up with all my final images i experimented with colours to determine which to use for the door hangers. Black and yellow being the best option. Then using photoshop i created the shape for the door hanger and edited photos to use as the images to be put on the door hanger. Once all the door hangers were finished and saved as PDFs I took them to Kewdos (a professional printers) and got then printed. I cut them out myself and they were ready to present.
